Under the Scope: Path Based Signals + Terminus & 2-Way RoRo Stations

PBS - TeaserFor three weeks YAPP (PBS) is in trunk now and we had some games using the feature of Path (Based) Signals. I had a closer look at this feature and some serious discussions with developers and other players. In this review, I want to collect and summarize the main aspects of YAPP as far as I understood them, show you new possibilities for terminus-like stations, pitfalls and much more.

Keeping a clean “Filesystem” with many OTTD installations (cleaning drafts)

Since OpenTTD 0.6.x, this feature is possible for stable releases, too. So we can publish this almost a year old draft. 😉

I liked to clean my OTTD installations, because new build supports cool features for that. In past I “managed” my OTTDs (different revisions) with symlinks, but with windows i.e., its not possible.

So here is a tiny howto, how to keep many OTTDs without too much redundancy:

#openttdcoop newGRF-pack 7.2 released (3 days ago)

Hey folks,

quite some improvements have been done to a lot of newgrf since the last release. Also the creators of the 2cc set are prodding us to use and test their creation – the 2cc train set. So we took the opportunity and gathered all changes and combined them in a new release.

PSG #108: back to basics

Today with the release of the new grf pack we also started a new game on our publicserver. The game type chosen for this game is a back to basics style with gradual expansion of the infrastructure.
The town of Mudworth with an ICE station
Mudworth, nicely situated within lush, green woods with a small tram network and a regional ICE terminal. The express trains in 1920s are still steam powered and the 1st class coaches ensure a joyfull and comfortable journey.

A new server

Maybe you’ve noticed that there is an imbalance between the activity of the PublicServer and the MemberZone. We as members couldn’t help but notice this and deviced a plan to change this, this lead to an all new server called the ProZone. The ProZone will be replacing the MemberZone but it will have a different guideline for allowing people on the server. The main difference is that you don’t have to be a member anymore to play on it but it will mean that you have to be a good enough player to be able to join us. Read the rest of this entry »
