Patched & promoted to membership


One of the first things I noticed of him was that in IRC he is one of the most smiling persons. And very helpful to noobs and newbies with big patience. Being involved in the OpenTTD dev team he started to lurk around our premises, having an eye for good and proper building and also patching ingame errors in the network – if time allows besides his quickly fixing a bug or writing another additions to OpenTTD. You may now already guess whom I’m speaking of.

So we happily and joyfully announce that we welcome SmatZ to our #openttdcoop team. A very warm welcome!

OpenTTD 0.6.1-RC2 released

Late yesterday another release candidate of the next stable version of OpenTTD was made public by the devs. The logs show that they’ve been on a real bug fixing spree on that branch. Have a look and download this RC from sourceforge.

Dev-Server: alpha test of wwottdgd patch

Quite some time passed since the last (and first) World wide OpenTTD game day was celebrated. As on most accounts it was a very nice and joyfull experience, we decided to make steps forward to a next experience of that kind: Up to 55 players playing on a single map in different companies with the possibility to share infrastructure for a price with other companies.

Increased Spam protection

SpamI increased the protection of our blog and deleted over 40 fake accounts. In the last several weeks the amount of fake user registrations increased drastically and there was new no plug-in available supporting this issue in wp 2.5 or higher.
But I found a nice article (German) how to solve this problem and the there mentioned plug-in SABRE works perfectly.
I hope I didn’t delete any real user accounts as I deleted all of them on instinct.

Track curves

In games it is important that trains can stay up to speed, for the best flow of a network. In recent games we’ve noticed that curves in particular often aren’t long enhough, causing trains to slow down.
