New Public Server Game started (#118)

Today, after 20 days of playing and engineering on game #117, we started a new game. The new map is designed by Chris Booth. The game is set just after World War II. All passenger transport is destroyed and has to be re-engineered. The main objective of the map is to rebuild this infrastructure, but also build the post WWII-Industry.

Currently we are designing possible plans for the network infrastructure. We ask all players to give input or design their own plan ! It is no problem if you never have designed a plan, other players are more than welcome to help you and give you feedback.

If you havent played much on our Public Server, we advise you to go to our Wiki and read about our basic building concepts and rulesets.

Timelapse Patch on a PSG

In the public server game PSG #117 (r14508) I tested the timelapse patch by Roujin. It allows you to create screenshots automatically at a given interval. The screenshots can be converted to a movie with a program like mencoder.

Complex Orders and Improved S-Bahn Concept

Another great and useful feature which one or two didn’t recognize yet are Conditional Order Jumps. They are not available in OpenTTD 0.6.3 but if you are playing with recent nightly builds you should definitely use their advantages. As the name says you can use these special entries in the list to jump to a certain order.
Lets get an overview about the usage first and therefor we start with the types of conditions.

A lo largo del río

We started a new Pro Zone game now and I am glad I was able to join it. I am extremely busy and preparing for exams (if you haven’t heard that yet) and therefor the blog isn’t too active anymore. Though I love to play and the new scenario sounds promising: “a lo largo del río” means along the river, and that is our newest scenario. We are looking a bit for another roleplay game. Because of the lousy technique we are not able to cross the river with trains, but fortunately ferries were invented recently. Three bigger cities established with their neighbors on the other side harbors to transfer goods, passengers and all other fundamental resources required in an rough environment like deserts are. Deserts are dangerous and therefor the builders stick to the river, yes, along the river.

Phoenix the II honorary member

Providing us with a very good server for several months already, on which we have been able to play 1024^2 games. We’ve decided to make Phoenix a honorary member like Brianetta as a token of appreciation from our community towards his sponsoring activities.
