#openttdcoop

Hello there,

as of today, a new chapter in our community was opened. You probably all noticed the recently added advertisement on our blog page. All out of sudden, some money started to appear in our community’s pockets. In long and exhaustive discussions, we came to the conclusion that it is a good point on which we should take this community to a new level. We concluded that it is best to form a some sort of legal entity. Our choice was to form a swiss “Verein”, according to swiss civil law articles 60ff which we are naming “#openttdcoop association“. It is possible to open bank accounts on the name of the association, enter into contracts and many other things, similar to other legal persons.

After some weeks of invested time and efforts, after long discussion and last corrections we managed to agree on statutes. By now, we are not ready to publish them but we will do that within some time. For now, I just want to cite the central point of these statutes:

The purpose of the #openttdcoop association is to support interested users in order to collect ideas and concepts for the open-source transportation game “OpenTTD” on a non-profit basis by providing, financing and servicing an online communication platform (which we will refer to as #openttdcoop website) and game servers, free of charge to any user. The #openttdcoop association is open to physical persons of any nationality and neutral in terms of political and religious aspects. The #openttdcoop association is not associated with the OpenTTD project itself.

Tonight, the founding Assembly of the #openttdcoop association took place. With 7 present out of 9 total founding members, we agreed concordantly on the statutes and voted for a managing board, called “the Committee”, as well as a double-staffed auditor:

President: Mucht (thats me, actually 😉 )
Secretary: Osai
Treasurer: Kommer
Auditor(s): dih and tneo
Further founding members: valhallasw, Ammler, planetmaker, SmatZ
