More idleness

This is a late weekly review, mainly because I forgot about it and Mucht and Osai were both occupied with something else, although Osai has been more active the past few days.

Here is a short summary of the past week:
We started a new sandbox game, one with lots of sea. Someone liked the idea of islands and island hopping and we generated a little map for it.

I would like to put out a call for new players too as the past few weeks have been very inactive weeks. I’m especially looking for players who are more into the late game management, this includes train management, connecting the last industries and solving network bugs. If you are good or like one of these things, or you just want to coop then you could consider joining us.

An idle week at #openttdcoop

This was one of the more dull weeks at #openttdcoop. Mucht and Osai were both idle due to various reasons. But we had some new faces to replace them, those faces belong to Rysh and Ryx. We welcome them to our little community.
We also had a restart of the sandbox server, the network plan is the same as we had before but that game was lost in the period where there were no savegames taken from the sandbox.

A silent week, but great development

This week was another silent one again, a lot of people are very busy these days, including Mucht and me. Even Mr. Mainspammer Jinx is celebrating his exams, while XeryusTC is going to school again, he is the King of the Hill in our IRC-Channel. _42_ is running now since 25 days and we have almost 24000 lines of chat, thats great.

We are proud to announce two new aspirants of #openttdcoop:
JohnK and Piratejerk are welcome to play at the mainserver now.
Congratulations 🙂

Finally another long-awaited thing showed up this week:
The Coopeition Branch is up and running, post your ideas and send in your patches there!
For more information check this Post: Coopetition branch finally there

And of course, the shiny robot is alive:
This week Brianetta released the new version (2.0) of his autopilot and its getting very popular. Have a loot at Brianettas post if you want to be part of the development.

This week was a week of coding, we prepared big things to come and did not play too much. SandboxGame 17 finished today and we started a new one already, but the MainserverGame still needs some time.
This week is a good base, for another great week of #openttdcoop

Enjoy

Week 36 / 2006

This week showed little activity on both mainserver and sandbox. On the Sandbox, a game with moneymakers and completed network design was trashed since no one seemed have the right idea how to implement a 4×4 mainline. A new game was set up and started Sunday afternoon.

Starting with the current sandbox game, we added a newgrf to our set, the Tropic Refurbishment Set. From now on, we can play the desert climate again. Also, we have a full backward compatibility with our archived games using the “classic” #openttdcoop-grf-set. We updated our newgrf-page and repacked our set. Make sure you both extracted the .zip and edited your .cfg in order not to loose your sync 😉

Again today, Sunday, Brianetta managed to launch his all-new Autopilot v2.0! Check this page for a complete overview!

Yet another weekly review

Altough this week had had less activity comparing to previous ones, various notable events took place:

The current mainserver game makes slow but steady progress. You definitely have to take a look at it since we have a whole new idea for the network there. Also, the Sandbox had quite some activity in the past week.

Bad news on the upcoming Coopetition-Ladder: a lot of code was done before but still a lot of code to be created. It seems like it will take some more days or even weeks to put a steady and comprehensive system online. Don’t worry – it will definitely be completed!

This week was also a week of brainstorming on different coopetition-proposals which can be implemented in our own coopetition-branch on svn.openttd.org. Look here for some of the ideas. Also, you see different game types we created on the bottom of the page, like the tournament and the head-to-head mode.

Looking at the channel-activity we noticed two new nicks at #openttdcoop: TheDancinZerg, senfbr0t and DyzDyzPL ! Welcome to our universe!
