PSG 134 Review

So another #openttdcoop game draws to a close. Game 134 was a foray into the world of ECS set on a 1024×1024 temperate map, using parameter bit 15 (no primary industry closures). Goals were simple, figure out and connect the ECS industries. Plans fell into two groups; “Loops” and “Grids”. Eventually Thraxian’s plan won the voting, which featured splitting the map into a 3×3 grid (the eastern most three merged into a 1×3) with each part playing host to an ECS vector, effectively turning the map into one large ECS flow chart.

Updated game creation guide – calling for maps

On november of last year Planetmaker wrote a guide explaining how to make a playable scenario and urging people to submit their creations. Once again, we are in need of new maps to play and because OpenTTD has seen alot of updates after that guide was written, it seemed like a good time to post an updated version.

The updated version can now be found at the wiki. This also means you can edit it if you feel something is wrong or missing.

With this guide in mind I would like to stress that anyone can submit a scenario. We are always in need of games to play, even if we just started one. If you feel creative or think you have a nice idea, go nuts on a map and maybe yours will be played next.

A newbie guide to #openttdcoop

First off, let me welcome you to the #openttdcoop community. You might’ve stumbled upon this site for the first time, or we’ve met you on IRC, maybe you even played a game, but you still consider yourself a new player. I noticed new players don’t really know what to expect, or what to do for that matter. That is why I decided to write a small introductory guide. Just so you’re warned, our games are quite advanced, and even though there’s plenty of easier things to do, we do expect you know your way around the basics of Transport Tycoon. If you don’t know these, I recommend you try some singleplayer games first.

About us

#openttdcoop is a community that promotes the coop style of playing games. Instead of competing with each other, we group together and work towards one goal with our combined efforts. Because of this, our games tend to become large, complex and sometimes incomprehensible. This either puts you off of it or makes you go “WOW!”. If you are in the second group, you should try playing along, you might like it.
