GRF Pack version 4beta released
We have reached the release state of the first “legal” GRF pack, with version 4beta we ask you kindly to test our new pack. Please post problems here or on the discussion page on the wiki, if you are an author of a grf and have something to say, we also opened a post at the TT-Forum. The GRF is downwards compatible and can be used on servers with the old and new configuration. At the moment, there is no server running with new configuration, but that will change…

We couldn’t decide, which compression format we will use, yet. The best pack is clearly 7z, but there are some people, who are afraid of installing good software, so we will probably stick to zip.
The major change is certainly the folder architecture. All grfs are saved in their own directory, so we can keep the readmes, license files etc.. Its also very easy to deinstall the pack, just remove the folder ottdc_grfpack from data.
The beta status will be gone after all servers are running with the new configuration and we don’t need the old grfs for downwards compatibility anymore. (folder “old/”) And if you don’t have any bugs or incompatibilities or license faults.
Its also possible to suggest new GRFs, Phazorx showed how that could be done, the most important thing is to provide us with a link to the homepage of the GRF. We searched enough for the old grfs and won’t play detective for every grf in the future;) (Not every GRF is listed at GRFCrawler.)
