The DB Set XL v0.82 doesn´t include support for
ECS cargoes, neither with regards to wagon refittability nor to the availability of custom graphics for those new cargoes. Full support of ECS will be implemented only in the forthcoming version of the DB set (v0.9), so for the time being, the use of the actual ECS extension could be useful for games including ECS cargoes.
Copy the dbxl_ecs.grf file into your TTD folder and place a line
dbxl_ecs.grf
in the file ttdpatch.cfg behind the line which specifies the DBXL v0.82 set. Please notice that there´s only one version available, both for DOS and Windows.
You´ll need TTDPatch version 2.0.1 alpha 63 (or higher) to run the extension.
Be aware that the extension doesn´t add new cargo graphics to the DB Set v0.82. It just adapts cargo masks for freight wagons and coaches, and enables the AI to make use of the new cargoes.
The DB Set v0.82 extension is only meant to be used with the DB Set v0.82 due to its special carriage ID mapping. It´s of no use in conjunction with other vehicle sets.

Due to the way the DB Set XL 0.82 handles which type of wagon or coach may be attached to a certain engine, some of its engines are unable to carry coaches refitted to TOUR instead of PASS. These engines are: BR18, BR05, VT08, VT11.5, ICE-TD, BR515, BR110, BR112, BR103, BR111, ICE-1, and the ICE-3.

The availability of new vehicles was only possible by the outstanding work of Josef Drexler and Marcin Grzegorczyk on TTDPatch. In particular I´d like to express my gratitude to Josef for the fruitful collaboration during further developing TTDPatch.
